Dataiku Launches Headless for Agentic Coding Tools

⏱️ 2 min read

Dataiku has announced the launch of Dataiku Headless, a new capability designed to integrate its natural-language agentic interface, Dataiku Cobuild, directly into the existing coding tools utilized by technical teams.

According to the company, the tool addresses visibility bottlenecks in software development. While coding agents have accelerated script creation, Dataiku claims Headless allows developers to remain in their preferred coding environments while simultaneously creating and modifying data pipelines, models, dashboards, and AI agents as accessible Dataiku projects.

Under the hood, the company stated that Headless serves as the control surface a coding agent uses to inspect and operate Dataiku, delegating tasks to Cobuild when creating or modifying a project is required.

“Developers aren’t going to stop working in Claude Code or Codex, and we don’t think they should have to,” said Jed Dougherty, SVP of AI & Platform at Dataiku. “What they need is a way to turn that speed into something the rest of the business can actually see, review, and run in production.”

Dataiku Headless Capabilities

The company outlined three primary functions for the new capability:

  • Build from a coding agent: Developers can instruct their coding agents to find relevant context and delegate build work to Cobuild, which generates visual flows, datasets, transformations, and models within Dataiku.
  • Migrate legacy workflows: According to the brand, work built outside the platform—such as Excel workbooks or Alteryx workflows—can be analyzed by a coding agent and rebuilt as a governed visual project to speed up large-scale modernization and reduce manual migration time.
  • Investigate and support environments: Administrators can utilize their coding agents to identify failing jobs across multiple projects, utilizing Headless to diagnose issues and remediate them by adjusting project or administrative settings.

Integrations and Availability

Dataiku stated that Headless is available as a plugin on the Claude Code and Codex marketplaces. It is also compatible with other agentic coding tools, including Cursor, Snowflake CoCo, GitHub Copilot, and AWS Kiro.
