Tanu Chopra, Founder & Chief Storyteller, Hope Founderz emphasizes on creating a workplace where people feel safe to be themselves, knowing theyāre valued and respected
What are your views on this yearās IWD 2025 theme āAccelerate Actionā? How can we truly achieve diversity and inclusion in the workplace?
Tanu Chopra: Diversity and inclusion arenāt just big ideasātheyāre built through the small, everyday actions we take. Ā This yearās IWD theme, “Accelerate Action,” is a reminder that real change happens through small, intentional steps. Itās about making space for every voice, supporting those who need guidance, and challenging biases in how we hire, promote, and work together. Most importantly, itās about creating a workplace where people feel safe to be themselves, knowing theyāre valued and respected.
As a communications professional and storyteller, Iāve seen how sharing diverse experiences can connect us, help us see the world differently, and understand each other better.
Beyond work, embracing differencesāwhether through cultural celebrations, team-building, or simply listening with an open mindāhelps us grow together. Small gestures, like acknowledging someoneās contribution or uplifting a colleagueās ideas, can make a real difference.
Creating an inclusive world isnāt about grand gestures. Itās more about the everyday choices we make to support, include, and empower each other. Letās keep moving forwardātogether.
Can you share your journey into the tech world and what inspired you to pursue this? Where did it all start?
Tanu Chopra: I didn’t come from a tech background, but I’ve always loved stories and connecting with people. When I started working with tech leaders, helping them shape their narratives and share their ideas in a way that resonated, I realized that tech isn’t just about the gadgets, it’s about people and solving problems.
Seeing how technology can positively impact lives is what truly inspires me. Iāve been lucky enough to work with some phenomenal brands and leaders, and for me, itās always about finding the human story behind the technology.
Who would you consider your role model, someone who constantly inspires you?
Tanu Chopra: Oprah Winfrey, definitely. Her authenticity and ability to connect with people have always inspired me.
Closer to home, Iāve been inspired by the strong women in my family whoāve shown me the importance of empathy and grace. Role models arenāt just public figures; theyāre the everyday heroes who shape our lives.
