NVIDIA is advancing DLSS once again with the release of DLSS 4, featuring DLSS Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and laptops. With the GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080 out now, NVIDIA is also releasing a new GeForce Game Ready Driver and NVIDIA Studio driver, as well as a major NVIDIA app update.
This week, DLSS 4 introduces some major upgrades, including the biggest upgrade to its AI models since the release of DLSS 2.0 in 2020 – DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA are now powered by the graphics industry’s first real-time application of ‘transformers,’ the same advanced architecture powering frontier AI models like ChatGPT, Flux, and Gemini. DLSS transformer models improve image quality with improved temporal stability, less ghosting, and higher detail in motion.
The DLSS Frame Generation AI model is also upgraded, boosting performance and reducing VRAM use on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs.
Meanwhile, DLSS Multi Frame Generation generates up to three additional frames per traditionally rendered frame, working in unison with the complete suite of DLSS technologies to multiply frame rates by up to 8X over traditional brute-force rendering. This massive performance improvement unlocks stunning 4K 240 FPS fully ray-traced gaming on GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards.
DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is available now in over 75 games and apps, and many more games and apps support other DLSS enhancements.
Remedy Entertainment’s critically acclaimed Alan Wake 2 is one of the best-looking and most immersive games released to date. Today, GeForce RTX gamers can experience Alan Wake 2, published by Epic Games, with additional visual refinements, higher levels of detail, new DLSS 4 AI models, and even faster performance thanks to DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most technologically advanced games available. DLSS Multi Frame Generation, with DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Ray Reconstruction, multiplies frame rates on GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards by 4X on average, compared to traditional brute-force rendering.
