Research shows continued market share growth for Genetec as both the VMS and VSaaS markets continue to expand worldwide.
Physical security software vendor Genetec increased its share of the global video management software (VMS) market in 2025, according to newly released reports from research firms Omdia and Novaira Insights.

Data from Omdia indicates that Genetec grew 20% in 2025, outpacing the 13.3% overall growth recorded across the global VMS and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) market. The report noted a widening performance gap, with second- and third-place vendors remaining flat or seeing market share declines over the same period.
“Growth in this market is not evenly distributed,” said Paul Bremner, Practice Leader for Physical Security at Omdia. “Buyers are consolidating around vendors that can deliver cloud, on-premises, and hybrid from a single open platform, and those vendors are taking share from ones that cannot.”

Separate findings from Novaira Insights ranked Genetec number one globally (excluding China) in total video surveillance software and service agreements. Regionally, the research placed Genetec in the top position in the Americas for the 15th consecutive year, cited it as the fastest-growing top-10 vendor in EMEA, and ranked it in the top three within Asia Pacific (excluding China).
Addressing the market shifts, Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering at Genetec, stated that “enterprise buyers are prioritizing open-architecture platforms built to IT standards to prevent vendor lock-in as they modernize physical security operations.”
