Shokz has launched OpenDots 2, its latest open-ear clip-on earbuds, in the UAE. According to Shokz, the earbuds are designed for open-ear listening while allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings.

OpenDots 2 features Shokz Bassphere 2.0, which uses two custom drivers in a spherical acoustic system. The redesigned diaphragm is designed to reduce sound distortion, while upgraded Dolby Audio supports bass, vocals and overall audio detail, according to the company.

Its DirectPitch technology directs sound toward the listener’s ear to reduce audio leakage, said Shokz. Each earbud has a triple-microphone system comprising two air-conduction microphones and one bone-conduction microphone, supported by adaptive beamforming and AI noise reduction for calls.

The earbuds use a flexible JointArc design combining a nickel-titanium structure with contoured silicone. Shokz says this is designed to provide stability and accommodate different ear shapes.

According to Shokz, OpenDots 2 offers up to 10 hours of listening on a single charge and up to 40 hours with the charging case. A five-minute quick charge provides up to two hours of playback. The case supports Qi-certified wireless charging, while the earbuds have an IP57 water-resistance rating.

Connectivity features include Bluetooth 6.1 and MultiPoint Pairing, allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously. Dynamic Ear Detection allows either earbud to be used on either ear. Users can customise EQ settings, gesture controls and MultiPoint connections through the Shokz App, which also includes a Find My Earbuds feature.

OpenDots 2 is available in the UAE in Pearl White, Grey and Black at AED 699. The earbuds are sold through UAE retailers including Dubai Duty Free, Virgin Megastore, Sharaf DG, Jumbo, Active8, Motiv8, Emax and Go Sport, as well as online through Amazon and Noon.
