IWD 2025: Tala Shahin, HR Business Partner at NTT DATA, KSA

Tala Shahin, HR Business Partner at NTT DATA in KSA emphasizes the pressing need for gender equality to achieve diversity in the workplace

Tala Shahin: We should emphasize the pressing need for gender equality to achieve diversity in the workplace. Companies should prioritize inclusive hiring, equitable policies, and employee support groups in order to achieve true diversity and inclusion at work. Clear anti-discrimination policies, regular bias training, and appreciation of diverse viewpoints are essential. It’s also critical to celebrate cultural diversity, ask for employee input, and offer flexible work arrangements. Businesses may foster a more welcoming and encouraging workplace where everyone can succeed by using these measures.

Tala Shahin: My journey into the tech world started with a fascination for how technology can change lives and drive innovation. Working in HR at a tech company has been the perfect blend of my interests. I remember the moment it all clicked for me – I was attending a tech conference and saw firsthand how diverse teams could create groundbreaking solutions. That inspired me to focus on building inclusive and dynamic workplace cultures. By championing diversity, fostering employee growth, and promoting continuous learning, I aim to help our company attract and retain the best talent, ensuring we stay at the forefront of the tech industry.

Tala Shahin: My kids are my role models because they constantly inspire me with their curiosity, resilience, and pure joy for life. Watching them explore the world with wide-eyed wonder reminds me to stay curious and open-minded in my own life and career. Their ability to bounce back from setbacks with a smile teaches me the importance of resilience and perseverance. They find happiness in the simplest things, which encourages me to appreciate the small moments and maintain a positive outlook. Their determination to learn and grow motivates me to continuously improve myself, both personally and professionally. By embodying these qualities, my kids inspire me to be a better person and to create a supportive and healthy environment at work, where everyone can succeed.
