The 8TB–24TB, S300 AI surveillance drives will be available in retail packaging from late Q3/early Q4 2026.
Toshiba is expanding availability of its S300 AI Surveillance Hard Drive, bringing the drive to retail and e-commerce channels in retail packaging from the end of Q3 or beginning of Q4 2026.
S300 AI Surveillance Drives Now in Retail Packaging
The S300 AI was first introduced in bulk packaging in November 2025. The new retail packaging is aimed at professional users such as system integrators, IT resellers and security installers who may need replacement drives or smaller quantities for surveillance deployments.
The drive is designed for surveillance systems that combine continuous video recording with AI-based video analysis. Toshiba offers the S300 AI in capacities ranging from 8TB to 24TB, with support for up to 64 camera streams and an additional 32 AI streams. Toshiba’s product page provides the full specifications.
According to Toshiba, the drive is optimized for the combination of sequential recording and random-access workloads generated when AI applications analyze recorded video.
The S300 AI surveillance drive carries a workload rating of up to 550TB per year and an MTTF of up to 2.5 million hours. It also supports multi-bay RAID configurations and comes with a five-year limited warranty.
Toshiba positions the drive for surveillance deployments across areas including transportation, manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare, finance and logistics, where video systems increasingly incorporate AI-based video analytics.

Availability
Toshiba says the retail range of S300 AI Surveillance Drives will become available from the end of Q3/beginning of Q4 2026.
