AI in Personalized Styling, Tried it Yet?

In conversation with Vladimir Radojevic, CEO at Dresos, a Dubai-born startup (part of TECOM Groups’ in5 incubator). As AI enters our personal lives, lets find out how AI can change the way you have been shopping and styling.

Artificial Intelligence has almost entered our daily lives but Can AI style an individual or change the way we dress? How Does this work?

Yes, absolutely it can and its already working. AI in fashion or AI styling is focused on providing absolute convenience while shopping online and at the same time offers total look (styling) available in just few clicks. Currently, customers (both men & women) can go on our website www.dresos.com, and take a 3 min style quiz, that’s it you are all set. Once they take the quiz, the stylist will prepare an outfit for any occasion, it’s literally that simple. The customer will receive their box with 2-3 outfits delivered to their homes to try out. Also, they will have up to 3 days to decide what they want to keep or return. Isn’t that great? What’s unique in our offering is that, DRESOS is offering a styling service with the same product prices that customers would pay while shopping in malls or online themselves.

Convenience – Customers won’t have to spend time in a busy shopping mall or scrolling for hours looking for a perfect outfit, size, style or fit.

Styling Service – All products will be put together in the form of an outfit considering customer preferences in terms of style, colors, fit, budget.

How practical do you think is the reliance on AI for personal styling when there is so much available out there to choose from? Online, shopping malls, etc.

“So much available” means overwhelmed with choices and you are right about that. This is one of the problems we are solving for our customers by choosing the right outfits for them by “filtering” thousands of options available to the ones that are most suitable for each customer. This is how we save time for our customers. In the fast paced environment like UAE in particular, time is scarce, and people choose to spend it with family and friends. Having AI as your personal stylist is a great way to save time and effort and create a unique shopping experience.

Alright we will definitely save time, effort, but what about the premium a user may have to pay for using this as a service? Is there any?

No. There isn’t any premium that our customers pay for the service. Our styling service is absolutely free as well as the delivery. Customers pay only for the product they keep. Very often customers are skeptical, and they spend a lot of time looking for a catch. Well, there isn’t one. We don’t charge for styling nor delivery fees; customers pay only for the items they keep. That means they can receive the box at their home, try the outfits for up to 3 days and keep only what they wish to purchase. The rest can be returned to us without any charges.

Can you talk about your B2B approach, partnerships and the brands that a user can choose from? 

While working with different brands for our B2C segment, we have noticed that there is an interest for more personalized shopping with the brands we currently work with. Retail being a huge industry in the region, there is an increased interest from big retailers and brands to adopt more technology in retail and catch up with the global trends.

The plan for DRESOS is to start working with the retailers in the region and offer them an AI styling software for more personalized shopping experience on their online platforms. This way, online retailers can increase their Average Order Values, improve customer retention, and increase frequency of purchase to name only a few benefits.

So far, which countries is the Dresos platform live in? And what are your expansion plans?

We are currently operating in the UAE only, but the plan is to expand to Saudi Arabia by end of 2024. This will mostly depend on our fundraising campaign.

How are you raising funds at the moment?

We are currently live on Eureeca equity crowdfunding platform, and we are raising a bridge round of $200K-$500K.
